Helium filled balloons pulled a thread of glass from a small mass of molten glass on the ground up into the sky. The thread grew to roughly 100 meters before the molten mass cooled enough to halt the drawing out of the thread. The piece remained tethered to the ground and swayed in the wind for almost an hour until a gust of wind released the thread which floated away.
